Description |
Camera roll 360 is the second of two camera rolls (359, 360) that contain an interview with Beverly Roberts and Darlene Bowen, filmed on June 6, 1979, at Munsell Chapel in Shannon County, Mo. Beverly and Darlene had recently become Pentecostal ministers and were holding services one night a week at the church. In camera roll 360, they talk about the religious tradition in their families, the difference between large and small churches, city churches versus country churches, differences in the ways boys and girls are brought up in rural culture, the role of men and women in adult life, lack of local jobs, their hopes for the future, and their thoughts about moving away. In addition to this interview, Beverly and Darlene appear in a brush arbor construction sequence (camera rolls 001, 002 and as active participants in a Pentecostal brush arbor service (camera rolls 016, 020-024). |
