747-U8 WITH THE RAINBOW DIVISION IN FRANCE THE 42nd DIVISION'S FIRST SECTOR was in the Forest of Eliux, about ten miles northeast of Baccarat -- a picturesque place, as the snapshot above gives evidence. The Rainbow Division had the distinction of being the first American contingent in France to take over a divisional sector. The "Movie man" in the foreground is an officer of the U.S. Signal Corps making a historical record of the scene for the archives of the War Department."(Near Badonviller, France; June 3, 1918)
