In replay to yours of the 31st ultimo, regarding the return of the 12th Engineers for demobilization in the vicinity of St. Louis, please be advised that your letter will be referred to the Director of Operations, General Staff, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C., under whose jurisdiction such matters are handled. 2. The question of the demobilization of the 12th Engineers has already been taken up with his office, and on the tickler a notation has been made so that this request will receive proper consideration when the regiment returns and the conditions existing at that time can be taken into account.
