H Yant Worel & Cook F. B. Thunuan and Kruse Monday was not an ideal day for foot-ball. Instead of the cool, crisp weather which puts energy into the knight of the gridiron, the day was warm and made hard and fast playing a burden. It was the supposed "big" game of Columbia's football season, and a large crowd, including a good sprinkling of the fair sex turned out, but it was a very quiet crowd indeed. Only once was enthusiasm or spirit displayed and then it did not last long. The game was a battle royal and was brilliantly contest-ed although Nebraska had somewhat the best of it, especially in team work. Nebraska made two touchdowns, and kicked both goals, while Missouri failed to score. Nebraska's backs played to-gether as one man, and time after time went through Missouri's line for good gains. Crandall at left half, Montgom-ery at right half, Cook at full and Westover at right taukle played the best game for Nebraska, although every man played well. Their team work was fast and all of their plays went with force. The Tigers played as good, if not the best game Monday that they have played this year, but still the line in places was weak and Nebraska found little trouble in finding holes. Smith of the second team played left end and got into the game nicely in the second half. Thurman was in poor condition to go into the game but played his usu-al strong game until he was compelled to quit, when Kruse went to full, and Frampton went in left guard. Yant, who is a new man in the game, showed up well in defense work, and Kruse went through Nebraska's line several times for good gains. Cooper was in the game good and strong. Crandall made a run of 40 yds around Missouri's left end and made the touch-dow- n in just 3 minutes after the game started. The second touch-dow- n was made in the second half and Missouri was pushed back by a series of line bucks, until the ball was pushed over the goal line. Ringer kicked two nice goals. Missouri had the best of Nebraska in punting. While a number of the players were forced to retire, none was hurt seriously The First Half. Nebraska kicked off to Washer who caught the ball, and punted 25 yds. Crandall and Montgomery in turn at-tempted to carry the pigskin around Missouri's ends, but failing to make gain, Cook punted 30 yds. Thurman punted for Missouri, and Crandall caught the ball and went around Mis-souri's left end for a touch-dow- n. Sing-er kicked ggal. Time of touch-dow- n 3 minutes.
